I Didn’t Forget About You All…

I know it’s been a while, but I am still around. I took sick last Monday, and I haven’t been up to much of anything. I spent this whole last week in bed, and I came to the conclusion that this has to be COVID-19.

Eight days have passed, and I still feel like crap. I am so weak, and I have a lot of congestion. I hope this goes away soon.

Today was the first time in a week that I even got my computer out. It’s been bothering me that I am not getting anything done on my book. I’m just not up to it.

I am trying not to let this setback bother me too much. I have made good progress up to this point, and I should feel good about it. I do. Being sick isn’t the end of the world.

I have used this time to think about what I need to get done on my book. Even if I haven’t been well enough to be up and using the computer, at least I am getting an idea of where to go with what I have got to this point.

Of course, life always gets in the way. I have a lot on my mind lately, since my mental health isn’t the best right now. I am hanging in there though. Doing what I should. Keeping it simple. I’ve made some life choices that I hope are for the better. Only time will tell.

I hope you all have a great day! Take it one step at a time. As always, thanks for stopping by! You’re always welcome to come back anytime. Take care!!

Sincerely, R. Kline

Struggling My Way Through This

It hasn’t been easy dealing with everything that happened in the fall of 2022. That’s the part I am working on now. It’s a lot to process, and I am trying my best to get through it.

I never said this would be easy. It’s not. It’s hard to deal with the fact that I became so ill and not once did I seek treatment until it was forced upon me.

I wonder about this. I know why I don’t. It’s because it never helps. It’s a miserable thing to go through. It’s depersonalizing to someone who is already suffering enough.

I have been in the hospital so many times over my life that I have learned everything they want to teach me in groups. That’s useless, and I never want to attend them anyway. So, what’s the use of me even being in there? I can have my meds adjusted at home, with the help of my doctor, where I am more comfortable anyway. Why go through that horrible experience of being inpatient when I am already going through enough? What’s the use? I just don’t get it.

I can understand that I need to be in the hospital when I am a clear and present danger to myself or someone else. That’s completely understandable. But what about the other times?

It’s a waste of insurance money. My family would love it if I ran to the hospital every time something happened involving me that made them uncomfortable. They would feel better, even though going inpatient is hell on me. i have told them many times that they could benefit from a support group for families of the mentally ill. They don’t want to do that anymore than I want to go to the hospital.

Anyway, I am trying to explain how things are without giving away any content from my book. That’s difficult itself. I would love to be able to explain things to you, but it’s not possible at this moment in time. I promise that later we will discuss the book in great detail. That will be after it’s done and hopefully published.

The book is coming along nicely. I am very proud of the effort I am putting forth. It’s been a struggle, but it will all be worth it in the end. Writing this book is helping me cope with everything that happened and help to put it behind me. I need closure, so I can go on with my life Hopefully, I will get come clarity from this all, too.

I am happy you have come along for the ride! I appreciate your interest in what I am up to here and what I have going on. Feel free to follow along. That’s the whole point of this blog. You’re also welcome to join the community and become involved. I hope that grows over time.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon!

Sincerely, R. Kline

PS. I haven’t been doing very well lately, as I am working through this. There’s been a lot in life that is weighing me down. A lot has happened, even though I don’t want to be so open about that here. All I will say is that I am now off work because of my disability, and I will be for some time yet in the future. I won’t be returning to my last job. I will be finding a new one. Bear with me. I am doing the best I can. Thanks again for your support! Feel free to comment or like this post. Take care!

Missed Deadline…

I missed the deadline I had set for myself for the first draft of part three, but I am not sweating it. Life interfered of course.

I am close but no cigar. Lol. If that makes sense. I don’t think I was being realistic about how long it would take me to finish the first draft on that part. It’s such a big part of the story, and it covers a lot of ground. I have been thinking of breaking down into five smaller parts because it has been so hard to work with a file that large. It’s at over 40 pages now, and it will probably be 50 pages by the time it is ready. Or more. There’s still a lot to cover from the Fall of 2022. A lot went on.

My new deadline for this part is the end of the month: January 31, 2026. That feels more realistic than the last one. Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Take care!

Sincerely, R. Kline

I’m Setting a New Goal…

I have decided to set another goal for myself. I want to have the first draft of Part Three done by 1/25/26 at midnight.

Part Three is a large part of the book. It includes the Fall of 2022 and the beginning of that winter. It covers the first breakdown that this book will deal with. It’s an intense part of the book, and it will need many revisions until I reach a final draft. However, a first draft will be an accomplishment for me. I already have first drafts of Part One and Part Two.

I think meeting this goal will fill me with satisfaction. It will bring hope into my situation. Goals are important. Small goals make larger goals more reachable and realistic.

This is only mid-January 2026, and I already feel like I am making excellent progress on this project. It’s a lot of hard work, but I know it will be worth it, even if the book never gets published. I have promised myself that this will not be the case. Even if I have to pay for publication, I will do that. I am so excited!

I hope you will follow along as I work towards this ultimate goal. I am hoping to develop a following along the way. At some point, I will be looking for people to review my book. Maybe that will be you?

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon!

More about UNHINGED from R. Kline

I said I would share about the writing process, so let me explain how it has been going…

I started by writing out some things I remembered. I structured those pages into files, according to time frame. I next made an outline that allowed me to put everything I remembered into chronological order. I then used the outline to make sure everything went in that specific order that I had already written.

Next, I went into each file and wrote as much as I could remember to that point. I also wrote a basic dedication and introduction. I keep going back and revising these as I get further along.

I have been working on the first drafts of the first few parts of the book. I would like to work my way through and get each part’s first draft done before I begin working on the fine points of each part.

Right now, I am working on the first draft of the Fall of 2022. This includes my first breakdown. It’s been difficult remembering everything that happened, and it’s not easy putting it into words either. I really want this book to take the reader into my head throughout each and every episode or time I was out of touch with reality. I want people to come to understand. That’s important to me.

It’s also difficult dealing with everything that happened. I write for a while, and then I have to take a break to process it all. It takes me a little bit of time to lay each piece to rest. This is an important part of the healing process for me. I need to put this all behind me, so I can go on with my life. This is a vital part of me being able to go on to be a successful individual, not someone who is held back by trauma.

These episodes are very traumatic. When you read the book, you will come to have a better understanding of what someone who suffers with a mental illness actually goes through. At least, from my point of view.

Thanks for taking the time to read what I have written and for stopping by my website! I appreciate your interest in what I am doing. Keep coming back! I post every day, and I am actively working on my memoir. Follow me through the entire writing process, as well as what it takes for me to get this book published in the end.

Thanks again and take care!

Sincerely, R. Kline

PS: The image at the top of this post is one I took when I was riding through the woods, just as it was getting dark. I was going out to see if the drones, which were following me around at that time, would show themselves somewhere where there was no electric and no way to explain them away. I needed to either confirm or disprove their existence, and I needed to do it quickly.

Won’t you please join me for that ride?

My Own Meditations

During the summer of 2023, I started making meditation videos and shorts. I then uploaded them to YouTube. I have a channel there with some videos posted to it. Please feel free to check it out.

The video above is a sample. The falling rain sounds so sedate. It’s peaceful. I can remember this day. I sat there for a long time, just listening to the rain. I took several videos, but I only uploaded a few.

I plan on working on more of these meditation videos and shorts in the future. You will also notice that there are videos embedded on the sidebars of this blog. I have included a few favorite songs. Everything I have included means something to me.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your interest. Feel free to stop by anytime! You’re always welcome here, and it’s free.

Take care!

Rocketing Off into A New Year

I would like to wish you all the best in the coming year! May you be blessed every step of the way! I hope you have dreams come true and get to meet your goals. May it be a prosperous and happy year, filled with joy and love. May all the bad days be behind you, as you start fresh and begin again.

It’s a new year and a new day! Enjoy!

Sincerely, R. Kline

BTW…the mushrooms in the picture at the top look like Ravenel’s stinkhorn to me. That picture was taken in Wrightsville, PA along the Susquehanna River. I didn’t know what a stinkhorn was then, but I eventually learned when some friends got me interested in mushroom hunting. Now I love it!

As I Say Goodbye to This Year…

Here we are again! Another holiday. I am sure a lot of people are celebrating tonight, but I am staying at home alone. This is a time of reflection for me, and I usually make peace with things that happened during the year.

I don’t plan on staying up or doing anything special. I just want to write while I have the chance. While the wind is still beneath my wings. Get while the getting is good, or whatever they say.

I should celebrate that I made it out of the halfway house. I got a decent job, and I am saving for a car. Things are good at this point. No major episodes this year, only a slight hiccup or two.

In case you aren’t familiar with what I mean by episodes, I suffer from Bipolar I and PTSD. I have episodes when I become incapacitated and out of touch with reality. I am writing a book about it at this time, called UNHINGED. It’s a memoir of my experiences living with mental illness over a five-year period. I won’t go into specific detail at this time, but I will be talking more and more about what’s in the book as time goes by. I just don’t want to give too much away at this point in time, so I am being vague.

I’ve been busy writing the days away, in the last few weeks. I am accomplishing a lot, and I am very proud of the progress I am making on this new book. I have two other books I have written that need revamped, and then I would like to try and get them published. I eventually plan to sell them on this website.

I have a lot of plans for this website and for Kline Consulting Solutions. Keep your eyes open for some new and exciting things happening in the new year. I hope to see the support group grow and to start accepting freelance work again. Lots of plans. Very exciting!

As we head out of this year and into the next, could we all remember to be kind? We never know what someone is going through, especially if they don’t tell us. We can all use a little sympathy and some compassion in our lives as we move through each day and into the next. A little kindness and caring can go a long way to someone who is really going through something at the moment. You might just be the things that saves their life. You never know…

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night and a better tomorrow! Take care!

Sincerely, R. Kline

Please Join Our Community!

I created a community on this website, and it is free to join! I am hoping that this will become a safe place for those who suffer from mental illness (and their families and friends) to socialize and share online.

I created my own Bipolar Support Group, and I hope someday others will be in it. I have a lot to share, both from experience and education, and I am very proud to provide a platform for that to happen on. I want this to be a place of support and socialization, a place where we all free comfortable to share our problems and what we are experiencing. Maybe we can find others who have had similar experiences and are able to provide feedback, ideas, or suggestions on how to make it easier to go through.

You are all invited to join. Just click the “Register” link on the top of the page. Then anytime you want to login, click the “Log In” link on the top of the page. Like I already said, it’s free. I have footed the bill on this one. Enjoy!
