Everything Happens for a Reason!

That’s how the saying goes, and it’s usually true. If it’s meant to be, it will be. It is what it is.

I haven’t written in a few days. Not the book. Not the blog. I have been working on something else.

As I said before, the book will end with now. So anything that has happened lately is going to be included if it pertains to my mental health problems, aka. my disability.

I don’t remember offhand how much I have been sharing about being off work lately due to a disability, but I don’t believe it has been much. This blog is focused on my writing of the new book, UNHINGED.

I am trying to save the details for in the book itself. I hadn’t expected to include any of this year in the book, but as it turns out, I will be ending the book with the current events happening at my job. I only yesterday resigned for reasons I do not wish to discuss at this time or on this venue.

I haven’t been getting much writing done these last few days, since I have been so preoccupied. I am hoping to get back to work today or tomorrow. If you were looking for an update, please check back again soon.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sincerely, R. Kline

I’m Setting a New Goal…

I have decided to set another goal for myself. I want to have the first draft of Part Three done by 1/25/26 at midnight.

Part Three is a large part of the book. It includes the Fall of 2022 and the beginning of that winter. It covers the first breakdown that this book will deal with. It’s an intense part of the book, and it will need many revisions until I reach a final draft. However, a first draft will be an accomplishment for me. I already have first drafts of Part One and Part Two.

I think meeting this goal will fill me with satisfaction. It will bring hope into my situation. Goals are important. Small goals make larger goals more reachable and realistic.

This is only mid-January 2026, and I already feel like I am making excellent progress on this project. It’s a lot of hard work, but I know it will be worth it, even if the book never gets published. I have promised myself that this will not be the case. Even if I have to pay for publication, I will do that. I am so excited!

I hope you will follow along as I work towards this ultimate goal. I am hoping to develop a following along the way. At some point, I will be looking for people to review my book. Maybe that will be you?

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon!

More about UNHINGED from R. Kline

I said I would share about the writing process, so let me explain how it has been going…

I started by writing out some things I remembered. I structured those pages into files, according to time frame. I next made an outline that allowed me to put everything I remembered into chronological order. I then used the outline to make sure everything went in that specific order that I had already written.

Next, I went into each file and wrote as much as I could remember to that point. I also wrote a basic dedication and introduction. I keep going back and revising these as I get further along.

I have been working on the first drafts of the first few parts of the book. I would like to work my way through and get each part’s first draft done before I begin working on the fine points of each part.

Right now, I am working on the first draft of the Fall of 2022. This includes my first breakdown. It’s been difficult remembering everything that happened, and it’s not easy putting it into words either. I really want this book to take the reader into my head throughout each and every episode or time I was out of touch with reality. I want people to come to understand. That’s important to me.

It’s also difficult dealing with everything that happened. I write for a while, and then I have to take a break to process it all. It takes me a little bit of time to lay each piece to rest. This is an important part of the healing process for me. I need to put this all behind me, so I can go on with my life. This is a vital part of me being able to go on to be a successful individual, not someone who is held back by trauma.

These episodes are very traumatic. When you read the book, you will come to have a better understanding of what someone who suffers with a mental illness actually goes through. At least, from my point of view.

Thanks for taking the time to read what I have written and for stopping by my website! I appreciate your interest in what I am doing. Keep coming back! I post every day, and I am actively working on my memoir. Follow me through the entire writing process, as well as what it takes for me to get this book published in the end.

Thanks again and take care!

Sincerely, R. Kline

PS: The image at the top of this post is one I took when I was riding through the woods, just as it was getting dark. I was going out to see if the drones, which were following me around at that time, would show themselves somewhere where there was no electric and no way to explain them away. I needed to either confirm or disprove their existence, and I needed to do it quickly.

Won’t you please join me for that ride?

One Day Closer to My Goal!

Is it December 31, 2026, yet???

I am anxiously awaiting the end date. I know I am far from my goal, but I am pleased with my progress. Someone just asked me yesterday how far along I am, and I told her about 25%. I think that’s about right.

There are eleven parts, and I have first drafts done on three of them. it’s a good start.

Writing has been challenging. Some of the parts are quite large, and so are the files associated with them. It’s difficult to move sections around within each file. I tend to get lost now and then. Lol!

They say, “If you believe it, you can achieve it.” I think that’s true. I have a definite idea of what the end product is going to look like, and I keep praying it will be a reality.

Don’t give up. That’s what I keep telling myself every time I want to put my computer away.

Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

It Was Total Confusion Until A Little Bit Ago…

I have been having trouble with Part Three of UNHINGED. It’s a big part, and it covers my first breakdown. That breakdown was long and enduring, as well as intense. It will end up being a big part of the book because of that fact.

This had me stumped for a while because I didn’t know how to handle all that material. It’s a lot of pages, and it was hard to move a section somewhere else in the file. I was getting lost.

I managed to get most of it in the right order. Chronological order is important to me because I want the story to have an orderly flow from beginning to end.

This book and everything about it is important to me. As a matter of fact, it consumes me. I need to write it. I need to lay this all to rest. It’s important that I am able to put this behind me and go on with my life.

Anyway…

No one is reading this. I am sure of that. I’ve had a few visitors, but they didn’t stay long. I am hoping that I will draw an audience at some point. Who knows? Maybe it won’t be until after the book is in print. Anyway, this will still be here when that happens.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Here’s Another Update on UNHINGED

Hello! I am writing again tonight!

I am working on what happened in the fall of 2022. That was the worst episode I ever had. The two that followed it were shorter in duration, but they were every bit as intense.

It’s been an interesting five years, and I hope I can write a book that accurately reflects what happened during that period of time. I have never written a book before, and it seems to be going okay. I won’t really know until I get further along.

Things keep popping in my mind that happened during these five years, and I keep trying to put what happened into the appropriate place in the book. Thank God for typewriters and computers because this would be extremely difficult if I had to write this all out. This wouldn’t be working out as well as it is.

Something that is weighing heavily on my mind is how I am ever going to get this book published. If anyone has any ideas, that would be awesome! I guess I will start by researching publishing companies to see which would be a possibility for publishing my book. I am scared. What if nobody wants it?

I know there are companies who will publish any book if the author pays for it to be published. I will even consider this when the time comes because I am so serious about seeing this book in print, as well as my other two books. One book at a time, though.

My plans for the weekend are the same as my plans tonight. I want to get as much done as I possibly can. Then in a week or two, I need to take a day or two and revamp the main website. I only put a temporary website up there. I need to fix that.

I hope you are enjoying the evening. I also hope you have a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Good Morning America!

It’s 3 AM, and I am bright-eyed and bushy tailed. I must have been tired because I went to bed at 5 PM. Dang!

It’s always so quiet at this hour. I enjoy writing when I wake up early like this. I was working on the Spring of 2023, but most of the time, I jump around a lot. That’s how my mind works with the racing thoughts I sometimes experience.

Yesterday, I finished the first drafts on the first two parts of the book. I won’t be happy until the first draft of the entire book is sitting in front of me. I realize it’s only a draft, and there is still a long way to go until I reached a final draft that’s ready to publish. That will be a very happy day indeed!

I hope you have a good day today! Try to stay warm. It’s so cold outside. We are expecting some warmer weather this week and some rain. It will be a nice change from snow, which we get a lot of here.

What are you doing today? Are you heading to work? Running errands? Whatever you are doing, do it with a smile on your face. You’d be surprised at the impact that smile can have on others you encounter along your way.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again sometime. Take care!

My Mind Jumps Around A Lot

Writing this morning is difficult. I have been jumping from part to part. I can’t seem to focus on one part of the story.

I have been keeping a daily journal about my mental health and details about writing that I haven’t shared here. Maybe that will eventually be another book down the road. Who knows?

I am trying hard to stay focused, but I keep remembering things from different places on the timeline I am working with. I keep remembering more and more.

This is a story that is sure to keep my readers wondering what’s going to happen next. It was also leave them wondering what the heck was all of that? In the end, it’s up to my audience to decide whether to believe any of this or not. What was reality and what wasn’t?

That’s something I am still wondering to this very day. Forgive me for being vague, but I don’t want to give away too much of the story before it’s even written.

I am very excited for the end result. I can’t wait to sit down and read the finished product from beginning to end. It will be a while because I am such a perfectionist that I see myself working on this for some time to come. I want to make sure I don’t miss any of the details. Details are what make a story.

Won’t you please keep coming back to see what’s going on with my book? I am excited to share the whole process with you. I have never written a memoir before, and I am excited to share my story. I am anxious to see how this all plays out. Maybe I will fall flat on my face. Maybe I will be a huge success. Maybe only my friends and family will read it.

Who knows?

Anyway…

Stop back here anytime you like! It’s free! Take advantage of everything this website has to offer. Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Writing Can Be Difficult

I spent most of today writing, just like I have been doing a lot of lately. I am making a lot of progress, but it isn’t without its drawbacks.

The last five years have been very difficult for me, and writing about them is really hard. It makes the whole five years swirl around in my brain all at once. Certain memories start to jump out at me. Sometimes this is something I forgot and need to remember. Sometimes this is something I wish I could just write about it and then forget it forever.

As I said, I have gotten a lot done, but I don’t want to push it. I want to be like the tortoise, not the hare. I don’t want to wear myself. Slow and steady wins the race.

So many things have come back to me that it makes my head swirl endlessly. It takes time to process this all, so I write for a while and take a break for a while. I write when the mood strikes me, and I take a break when I don’t feel like pushing myself. Like I said, slow and steady…

I hit a bit of a rough patch lately, but I am not going to go into that here and now. I am going to wait and make it part of the book. It will tie in nice with the ending, which is about the here and now.

Stop by my blog anytime and see what’s up with my effort at writing this book. I will be writing about my experiences writing a book here on this blog. Feel free to send me a note or drop me a comment below. Don’t be surprised when I take the time to respond. This is meant to be interactive.

So, where are my followers? Speak up. Join in! You are welcome here!

I’ve Missed My Calling

Maybe I should have tried my hand at writing prior to this. I was always good at writing whatever I had to write in school or college. Actually, I have had six college level English classes, which covered a variety of writing styles.

I deeply enjoy writing, so maybe I missed my calling up to this point. That might change now that I have found out how much I enjoy it.

I have never written a novel before. Both of my previous works were in poetry. Nothing I have written has been published, but then again, I never really tried to see that through. Now I plan to do that.

I’ve been working in a warehouse, filling orders. They sell books to libraries. I keep seeing all these books, and it makes me wonder “why not me?”. There are books about everything, but I haven’t seen anything like what I am writing. I do see some memoirs and some biographies, but nothing exactly like this. That leaves me feeling more determined than ever to see this through and get something published for once.

I have heard about companies that will publish just about any book if the person writing it wants to pay a few thousand dollars to make it happen. I have even reached a point where I will consider this. This is that important to me to see through.

So far, I am making good progress. I want to have a finished first draft by January 31, 2026. That’s my current little goal. A little goal is a goal that contributes to reaching a bigger goal or the ultimate goal. My ultimate goal is to have a finished book that I am trying to get published by December 31, 2026.

At the same time I am making this happen, I will also be working on two other projects. One is to finish and revise 90 Poems in 90 Days. The other is to make a 3rd and final revision to Reflections. I hope to publish both of these books at some point in time, but I am not ready to set a date for that yet.

The further along I get writing UNHINGED, the more excited I become about what the end product will be like. I am excited! I can’t wait to sit down and read it when it is finally finished, from beginning to end. It’s going to be quite a story. That was a wild five years.

I won’t get into any of that yet though. It’s just too soon. I was told by a good friend of mine that they can’t wait to read this book. I showed her the skeleton I use, and she said she is so excited. I plan of having her read the book and be one of the reviews on my website. I have also asked her to help me do some troubleshooting on the website and blog. She joined the community, and we will be working together to get that started. It is ready for people to join. It’s free.

Eventually, I will run the Bipolar Support Group in the community for anyone who wants to join in. It will be a weekly online meeting, and anyone can participate. It’s to be a safe place to share and be supported by others with similar problems. It’s free to belong and participate.

Throughout the writing process, I will be available to reply to comments on the blog and answer emails I receive from the form on the blog. I want this to be an interactive process, and anyone is invited to participate. We value your feedback!

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate your interest, and it is my pleasure to update on my progress on the book. Come back anytime! You are always welcome here!
